Founded in 2014, the restaurant’s husband-wife duo – Chef Michael Reed and Kwini Reed, Poppy + Rose serves seasonal, elevated country kitchen styled comfort food in a relaxed, floral-themed ambiance.
Chef Michael Reed
Born and raised in Oxnard, California, Chef Reed realized his passion for cooking at a young age while watching his father barbecue and his mother bake pie from scratch. While enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, he worked at the Museum of Modern Art’s French restaurant, The Modern, which inspired his interest in fine dining. Over the years, Chef Reed has honed his skills in the kitchen of Michelin-starred Sona, Nancy Silverton’s Osteria Mozza, and Viviane at the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. In 2014, Chef Reed and his wife, Kwini Reed opened Poppy + Rose and later Poppy + Seed in Anaheim, both of which have received great acclaim.
