Founded by Chef Michael D. Gray, Fat Boys is a Los Angeles–based gourmet food truck known for bold, creative takes on classic comfort food. Inspired by Southern roots and a lifelong passion for bringing people together through food, Fat Boys serves elevated versions of familiar favorites—from indulgent burgers to soulful Southern-inspired dishes.
Chef Gray created Fat Boys with a vision that goes beyond simply serving great food. Chef Michael D. Gray discovered his passion for cooking at a young age while preparing Southern comfort food alongside his grandmother, where the kitchen became a place for connection, celebration, and community. That early inspiration led him to pursue formal training at the California Culinary Academy of Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco.
Known for his creative approach to classic comfort foods, Chef Gray is the founder of Fat Boys, an LA-based gourmet food truck serving bold, elevated takes on familiar favorites. Beyond the kitchen, he is dedicated to giving back—working with recovery programs and supporting organizations that help feed and care for those in need.
