Generous Plates 

While Masters of Taste is on pause this year, we are excited to introduce Generous Plates—a one-night-only dining experience that brings the same spirit of culinary excellence and community in a more intimate and immersive setting. Thank you for participating in our new event!

By being a Master at Generous Plates, you’re donating your time, talent, and team to support Union Station Homeless Services, the largest social services agency in the San Gabriel Valley serving those experiencing homelessness. For over five decades, USHS has been at the forefront of creating sustainable housing solutions. Union Station Homeless Services is also committed to providing immediate and long-term assistance for those impacted by the devastating Eaton Fire.

The Rose Bowl Green Rooms 

Guests start the evening by mingling at a cocktail reception that features:

A deluxe cheese spread by Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery

A selection of LA’s hottest food trucks

Craft cocktails 

Premium wines

Local craft beers

Following the reception, guests enter one of two exclusive dining experiences in the Rose Bowl’s historic Locker Rooms. Each intimate setting offers a distinct five-course tasting menu crafted by five chefs.

Generous Plates offers two separate tasting menus each feature a unique line up. Guests will purchase seats in the room of their choice only and will not have the chance to try the other room.

Guests then cap off the night at a grand dessert bar with coffee and a digestif!

Being a Generous Plates Master

As a participating Master, you’ll receive:

• • On-site signage displaying your logo and menu as well as listing on our website

  • All necessary servingware disposables (napkins, plates, forks, spoons, and cups)

  • Mentions and tags on our @mastersoftaste Instagram and Facebook pages

  • Access to an on-site kitchen with your required equipment

  • Exposure in our media campaign leading up to the event 

  • An invitation to our Masters Afterparty to meet the other participating chefs and brand owners

Master Requirements

We ask for the following:

• • • For Culinary Masters, at least 425 portions of your dish (tasting menu-sized)

    • For Beverage Masters, at least 200 tasting pours if you’re in a Dining Room and 400 if you’re in the Court of Champions (5 oz. or smaller, depending on your product)

    • For Sweet Masters, 425 individual desserts (a variety is welcome!)

    • A live introduction to your business and dish/offering during service, or for Sweet Masters, at the end of dinner (3 minutes)

    • Up to 4 of your staff members to help prep and serve onsite

    • Your logo, hi-res promo photos, and your current, unexpired health permit or ABC license

We’ve created a Social Media Kit for you to promote your participation in Generous Plates. Please share with your audience to help benefit Union Station Homeless Services!

Timeline

Late February: Health permits and ABC licenses sent to the Pasadena Health Department for approval

March 10: Due date for the description of your dish, drink, or offering

2 weeks before Generous Plates (March 24): Due date for your equipment rental order

1 week before Generous Plates (March 31): 

• • The team sends you load-in information
  • Final changes to team names due
