Wiens Cellars

We began with a vision – create high quality, hand-crafted California wine from vine to glass. Upon planting our first vineyard by hand in 1996, our connection to the process deepened & that vision evolved. Five varietals became twenty-seven, one employee grew to more than fifty, and one 14-acre vineyard became over 150 acres of hand-cultivated vines. As our ambition expanded, so did our membership. A new family formed from the business & our connections became infinite.

Mark and David Steinhafel, a father and son team, were searching for a shared business venture and through this process found Wiens Family Cellars. From the initial winery estate visit, they were impressed by the range and the quality of the wines, the expertise and passion of the staff, and the tasting room and production facilities. The Steinhafel family acquired Wiens Cellars in 2022 and continues to build upon the strong legacy the Wiens family built for over 20 years.

From the start, our values have been rooted in family, quality & integrity. Each of our wines upholds those standards while offering a unique narrative of the winemaking journey, with many more stories to be told. We continue in the same direction we began, but with the opportunity to share our vision with even more people. The legacy of Wiens lives on, bigger and better than ever before.
